About Ataxin 3
Machado-Joseph disease, also known as spinocerebellar ataxia-3, is an autosomal dominant neurologic disorder. The protein encoded by this gene contains (CAG)n repeats in the coding region, and the expansion of these repeats from the normal 12-44 to 52-86 is one cause of Machado-Joseph disease. There is a negative correlation between the age of onset and CAG repeat numbers. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. About DyLight 650
DyLight™ 650 is a red-emitting fluorophore that excited by the 640 nm laser and collected using a 670/30 nm bandpass filter. DyLight™ 650 has an excitation peak at 652 nm and an emission peak at 672 nm, and is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 647 and Cy5. DyLight™ 650 is most commonly used in flow cytometery and fluorescence microscopy applications.
