CD117 / PE / A3C6E2

Product Details
Description CD117, also known as c-kit or SCF receptor, is a 145 kDa receptor tyrosine kinase that is involved in stem cell signaling, activation, and proliferation. The CD117 antigen is expressed on about 1–3% of mononuclear cells from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) or cord blood, and on up to 10% of bone marrow cells. CD117 is further expressed on basophils, myeloid dendritic cells, TCRalpha/beta+ T cells, CD19+ B cells, and CD56+ NK cells, as well as on mast cells, melanocytes, and AML (acute myeloid leukemia) blasts. | Clone A3C6E2 recognizes a different epitope than clone AC126 and may interfere with SCF-binding. It is therefore not recommended for indirect cell isolation, but is optimal for flow cytometric analysis of cells separated with the CD117 MicroBead Kit, human.

About CD117
This gene encodes a receptor tyrosine kinase. This gene was initially identified as a homolog of the feline sarcoma viral oncogene v-kit and is often referred to as proto-oncogene c-Kit. The canonical form of this glycosylated transmembrane protein has an N-terminal extracellular region with five immunoglobulin-like domains, a transmembrane region, and an intracellular tyrosine kinase domain at the C-terminus. Upon activation by its cytokine ligand, stem cell factor (SCF), this protein phosphorylates multiple intracellular proteins that play a role in in the proliferation, differentiation, migration and apoptosis of many cell types and thereby plays an important role in hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, gametogenesis, melanogenesis, and in mast cell development, migration and function. This protein can be a membrane-bound or soluble protein. Mutations in this gene are associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumors, mast cell disease, acute myelogenous leukemia, and piebaldism. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2020]
About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
