ENPP1 Monoclonal / PE / REA867

Product Details
Description Clone REA867 recognizes the mouse ENPP1 type II transmembrane glycoprotein, also known as PC-1 (Plasma-cell membrane glycoprotein PC-1) or Ly-41. ENPP1 is mainly found on the surface of antibody-secreting plasma cells and on some subsets of nonlymphoid cells having a 5'-nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity. It is suggested, that ENPP1 plays a role in the regulation of the availability of nucleotide sugars in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi, and the regulation of insulin signaling. | Additional information: Clone REA867 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.

About ENPP1
This gene is a member of the ecto-nucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase (ENPP) family. The encoded protein is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein comprising two identical disulfide-bonded subunits. This protein has broad specificity and cleaves a variety of substrates, including phosphodiester bonds of nucleotides and nucleotide sugars and pyrophosphate bonds of nucleotides and nucleotide sugars. This protein may function to hydrolyze nucleoside 5' triphosphates to their corresponding monophosphates and may also hydrolyze diadenosine polyphosphates. Mutations in this gene have been associated with 'idiopathic' infantile arterial calcification, ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament of the spine (OPLL), and insulin resistance. About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
