CD8b.2 Monoclonal / PE / REA865
Product Details
Description | Clone REA865 recognizes the beta chain of the mouse CD8 antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein also known as lymphocyte antigen 3 (Ly-3.2 or Lyt-3.2). The CD8 molecule is composed of two distinct polypeptide chains that pair on the cell surface either as a CD8 alphaalpha homodimer or as a CD8 alphabeta heterodimer. These forms of the CD8 molecule are differentially expressed on functionally distinct CD8+ lymphocyte subsets. The CD8 alphabeta heterodimer is expressed on cytotoxic T cells and thymocytes. CD8b functions as a co-receptor for the T cell receptor (TCR). | Additional information: Clone REA865 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
