CD326 Monoclonal / APC-Vio770 / REA977
Product Details
Description | Clone REA977 recognizes the CD326 (EpCAM) antigen, which is a 40 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion, cell proliferation, and tumor progression. It functions as a homotypic calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule. CD326 (EpCAM) is broadly expressed on epithelial cells including definitive endoderm cells, keratinocytes, immature thymocytes, langerhans cells, lymph node dendritic cells, thymic dendritic cells, splenic dendritic cells, and tumor cells including almost all carcinomas. Moreover, CD326 (EpCAM) is expressed on mouse embryonic stem cells and was described as a marker for the identification of successfully reprogrammed induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS). | Additional information: Clone REA977 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About CD326
This gene encodes a carcinoma-associated antigen and is a member of a family that includes at least two type I membrane proteins. This antigen is expressed on most normal epithelial cells and gastrointestinal carcinomas and functions as a homotypic calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule. The antigen is being used as a target for immunotherapy treatment of human carcinomas. Mutations in this gene result in congenital tufting enteropathy. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
