CD10 Monoclonal / VioBlue / REA877
Product Details
Description | Clone REA877 recognizes the human CD10 antigen, also known as the common acute lymphoblastic leukemia antigen (CALLA). CD10 is a 100 kDa cell surface molecule identical to human membrane-associated neutral endopeptidase (NEP) and also known as neprilysin or enkephalinase. | Human CD10 is expressed on a wide variety of normal and neoplastic cell types from different tissues including neural and hematopoietic cells. It is expressed on pre– and pro–B cells and is involved in B cell development and differentiation. The antigen is also present on mature neutrophils, T cell precursors, and some T cell leukemias/lymphomas. Furthermore, CD10 is expressed on neoplastic cells of several B lymphoid leukemias/lymphomas. | Additional information: Clone REA877 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About CD10
The protein encoded by this gene is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein and a common acute lymphocytic leukemia antigen that is an important cell surface marker in the diagnosis of human acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). The encoded protein is present on leukemic cells of pre-B phenotype, which represent 85% of cases of ALL. This protein is not restricted to leukemic cells, however, and is found on a variety of normal tissues. The protein is a neutral endopeptidase that cleaves peptides at the amino side of hydrophobic residues and inactivates several peptide hormones including glucagon, enkephalins, substance P, neurotensin, oxytocin, and bradykinin.
