CD207 Monoclonal / PerCP-Vio700 / REA822

Product Details
Description Clone REA822 recognizes the mouse CD207 antigen, also known as Langerin, which is a 48 kDa transmembrane type II C-type lectin containing a single carbohydrate recognition domain in its extracellular region. Langerin is specifically expressed on epidermal Langerhans cells and dermal CD103+ dendritic cells. It displays Ca 2)+-dependent binding specificity for mannose, N-acetyl-glucosamine, and fucose and is involved in antigen recognition, uptake, and transport to the Birbeck granules, whose formation is dependent on Langerin expression. The CD207 epitope shows trypsin as well as collagenase sensitivity. | Additional information: Clone REA822 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.

About CD207
The protein encoded by this gene is expressed only in Langerhans cells which are immature dendritic cells of the epidermis and mucosa. It is localized in the Birbeck granules, organelles present in the cytoplasm of Langerhans cells and consisting of superimposed and zippered membranes. It is a C-type lectin with mannose binding specificity, and it has been proposed that mannose binding by this protein leads to internalization of antigen into Birbeck granules and providing access to a nonclassical antigen-processing pathway. Mutations in this gene result in Birbeck granules deficiency or loss of sugar binding activity. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2010]
About PerCP-Vio700
PerCP-Vio® 770 is a far-red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines PerCP and a Vio®770 dye. The donor, PerCP, can be excited by the 488 nm blue laser and transfers energy to the acceptor, Vio®770, which emits light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. APC-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 482 nm and an emission peak at 704 nm, and is spectrally similar to PerCP-Cy5.5 and PerCP-eF710. PerCP-Vio®770 is known to be very bright and photostable, as well as being stable when treated with fixatives. These favorable characteristics that make it useful in multiple different applications such as flow cytometry and Fluorescence Microscopy. The large stokes shift can be advantageous when trying to fit more colors into a multicolor panel. The Vio® dye family are products of Miltenyi Biotec, with many antibody conjugates designed and validated for flow cytometry.
