CD11c Monoclonal / PE / REA618
Product Details
Description | Clone REA618 recognizes the human CD11c antigen, a 145–150 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein, which is also known as integrin alphaX or CR4. It is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, NK cells, granulocytes, myeloid dendritic cells (MDCs), and subsets of T and B cells. On myeloid dendritic cells, CD11c is highly expressed on type 1 myeloid dendritic cells (CD1c (BDCA-1)+ CD123low MDC1s) and low on type 2 myeloid dendritic cells (CD1c (BDCA-1)– CD123– MDC2s). CD11c, also known as integrin integrin alphaX or CR4, has been reported to play a role in adhesion and CTL killing through its interactions with fibrinogen, CD54, and iC3b. | Additional information: Clone REA618 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | | |

About CD11c
This gene encodes the integrin alpha X chain protein. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This protein combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 4 (CR4). The alpha X beta 2 complex seems to overlap the properties of the alpha M beta 2 integrin in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium cells, and in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]

About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
