CD50 Monoclonal / APC / REA905

Product Details
Description Clone REA905 recognizes the human CD50 antigen, a type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as intercellular adhesion molecule 3 (ICAM-3). As a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, CD50 is closely related to ICAM-1 and consists of five immunoglobulin domains. It is expressed by leukocytes and is a ligand for CD11a (leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein). CD50 is also associated with the amino-terminal domain of ERM proteins and moesin and plays an essential role in primary immune responses. | Additional information: Clone REA905 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.

About CD50
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM) family. All ICAM proteins are type I transmembrane glycoproteins, contain 2-9 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains, and bind to the leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein. This protein is constitutively and abundantly expressed by all leucocytes and may be the most important ligand for LFA-1 in the initiation of the immune response. It functions not only as an adhesion molecule, but also as a potent signalling molecule. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
