Flt-3 Monoclonal / Biotin / REA779

Product Details
Description Clone REA779 recognizes the mouse CD135 antigen, a 150 kDa surface protein Fms-like tyrosine kinase receptor 3 (FLT3), also known as FLK-2. CD135 has functional and structural homology to the class III–receptor tyrosine kinases that include the M-CSF-, KIT-, and PDGF-receptors. The receptor is expressed on progenitor cells in adult bone marrow, thymus, brain, testis, and placenta. All hematopoietic cells develop from CD135 negative hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) through CD135 positive progenitor cells. In synergy with other growth factors like G-CSF, GM-CSF, SCF, and IL-3, ligation of CD135 with FLT3 ligand promotes the proliferation and differentiation of primitive hematopoietic stem cells. As a result early B cell lineage differentiation as well as expansion of monocytes and immature dendritic cells are stimulated. | Additional information: Clone REA779 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.

About Flt-3
This gene encodes a class III receptor tyrosine kinase that regulates hematopoiesis. This receptor is activated by binding of the fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand to the extracellular domain, which induces homodimer formation in the plasma membrane leading to autophosphorylation of the receptor. The activated receptor kinase subsequently phosphorylates and activates multiple cytoplasmic effector molecules in pathways involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells in bone marrow. Mutations that result in the constitutive activation of this receptor result in acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]
