CD257 Monoclonal / APC / REA767
Product Details
Description | Clone REA767 recognizes the mouse CD257 antigen, also known as BAFF. CD257 is a type II transmembrane protein and a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family, which induce pleiotropic biological responses, including cell growth, differentiation, and death. CD257 plays an important role as costimulator of B cell proliferation and function. Expression of CD257 is found on different cell types including monocytes, dendritic cells, and bone marrow stromal cells. | Additional information: Clone REA767 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About CD257
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This cytokine is a ligand for receptors TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFFR. This cytokine is expressed in B cell lineage cells, and acts as a potent B cell activator. It has been also shown to play an important role in the proliferation and differentiation of B cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
