TCR V beta 9 Monoclonal / PE / REA727
Product Details
Description | Clone REA727 recognizes the mouse V beta 9 T cell receptor (TCR Vbeta9). The T cell receptor (TCR) is responsible for recognizing antigens bound to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. It is a disulfide-linked membrane-anchored heterodimeric glycoprotein normally consisting of the highly variable alpha and beta chains expressed as part of a complex with the invariant CD3 chain molecules. T cells expressing this receptor are referred to as TCRalpha/beta T cells, though a minority of T cells express an alternate receptor, formed by variable gamma and delta chains, referred as TCRgamma/delta T cells. TCR Vbeta9 is a variant of the TCR beta chain and is expressed on mouse strains with the b haplotype (e.g. C57BL/6) in the Tcrb gene complex. The Tcrb-V9 gene locus is deleted in mice having the a (e.g. Balb/c) or c (e.g. SJL, NOD) haplotype. Murine Vbeta9+ cells recognize the Mtv-43, Mtv-44, and exogenous MMTV (SW) Mls-1 superantigens. | Additional information: Clone REA727 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
