CD33 Monoclonal / PE-Cy5 / WM53
Product Details
Description | CD33 is a transmembrane protein of the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family. It belongs to the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM)-containing molecules able of recruiting protein tyrosine phosphatases SHP-1 and SHP-2 to signal assemblies; these ITIMs are also used for ubiquitin-mediated removal of the receptor from the cell surface. CD33 is expressed on cells of myelomonocytic lineage, binds sialic acid residues in N- and O-glycans on cell surfaces, and is a therapeutic target for acute myeloid leukemia. | |

About CD33
Enables protein phosphatase binding activity and sialic acid binding activity. Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of cytokine production; negative regulation of monocyte activation; and positive regulation of protein tyrosine phosphatase activity. Located in several cellular components, including Golgi apparatus; external side of plasma membrane; and peroxisome. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]

About PE-Cy5
PE-Cyanine®5 (PE-Cy5) is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines phycoerythrin (PE) and Cy5. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Cy5. PE-Cy5 has an excitation peak at 496 nm and an emission peak at 667 nm.
