Description | CD7, also known as gp40, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily found on T cells, NK cells, thymocytes, hematopoietic progenitors, and monocytes (weakly). CD7 is also expressed on acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). CD7 crosslinking induces a calcium flux in T lymphocytes, presumably as a result of cytoplasmic domain association with PI3-kinase. CD7 co-stimulation can induce cytokine secretion and modulate cellular adhesion. A ligand of CD7, epithelial cell secreted protein K12, is produced in thymus to regulate thymocyte signaling and cytokine release. In lung microvascular endothelial cells CD7 serves as an IgM Fc receptor. Expression of CD7 is an important marker used in leukemia diagnostics. | |

This gene encodes a transmembrane protein which is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This protein is found on thymocytes and mature T cells. About PerCP-Cy5.5
PerCP-Cyanine® 5.5 (PerCP-Cy5.5) is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that was originally designed to make the PerCP fluorophore more stable and increase signal intensity. The donor molecule, PerCP can be excited by the 488-nm blue laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Cy5.5, which emitts light that can be captured with a 695/40 nm bandpass filter. PerCP-Cy5.5 has an excitation peak at 482 nm and an emission peak at 695 nm. There are superior alternatives to PerCP and PerCP-Cy5.5 including BB700, NovaFluor Blue 690 or PerCP-eFluor™ 710
