CD65 Monoclonal / PE / VIM8
Product Details
Description | Clone VIM8 recognizes the human CD65 antigen, a fucosylated carbohydrate on the cell surface, which is also known as ceramide dodecasaccharide or VIM-2. CD65 is formed by fucosylation of the inner lactosamine unit of alpha-2,3-sialylated polylactosamine by alpha-1,3-fucosyltransferase. It is expressed on all myeloid cells during development, highly on granulocytes and weakly on monocytes in peripheral blood. The sialylated form of CD65 (designated CD65s) appears when the progenitor antigen CD34 disappears, suggesting that this sialylated carbohydrate antigen marks a turning point in normal myeloid differentiation. CD65 is a critical adhesion molecule for extravascular acute myeloid leukemia cell infiltration. | | |

About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
