CD244.1 Monoclonal / PE-Vio770 / REA524
Product Details
Description | Clone REA524 recognizes an alloantigen of the mouse CD244 antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein, which is also known as 2B4. CD244 is a receptor belonging to the CD2 subfamily of the Ig superfamily and is involved in non-MHC dependent cytotoxicity. Expression of CD244 is found on all NK cells, gammadelta T cells, basophils, and monocytes as well as a subset of memory-phenotype CD8+ alphabeta T cells. The ligand of CD244 is CD48, which is expressed on all hematopoietic cells. CD244 is primarily involved in inhibiting NK cell functions. In inbred mice, at least two splice variants exist that differ in the length of the cytoplasmic domain. The long form functions in an inhibitory manner, while the short form functions in an activating manner. Clone REA524 reacts with CD244.1, the CD244 alloantigen which is expressed on most inbred mouse strains except C57BL/6 and C58, which express the CD244.2 allotype. | Additional information: Clone REA524 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About PE-Vio770
PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
