CD53 Monoclonal / PE-Vio770 / REA512

Product Details
Description Clone REA512 recognizes the rat CD53 antigen, also known as Ox-44, a 43 kDa glycoprotein and a member of the tetraspanin family, which has four transmembrane domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth, and motility. CD53 is expressed on almost all hematopoietic cells such as B cells, monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, und T cells, but not on erythrocytes and platelets. | Additional information: Clone REA512 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.

About CD53
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins. It contributes to the transduction of CD2-generated signals in T cells and natural killer cells and has been suggested to play a role in growth regulation. Familial deficiency of this gene has been linked to an immunodeficiency associated with recurrent infectious diseases caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]
About PE-Vio770
PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
