DiOC16(3) / DiO / N/A
Product Details
Description | The orange fluorescent, lipophilic carbocyanine DiOC16(3) is weakly fluorescent in water but highly fluorescent and quite photostable when incorporated into membranes. It has an extremely high extinction coefficient and short excited-state lifetimes (~1 nanosecond) in lipid environments. Once applied to cells, the dye diffuses laterally within the plasma membrane. | |

About DiO
DiO is a lipophilic carbocyanine dye often used in fluorescence microscopy to label the cell surface, trace neuronal axons or, upon fixation, any lipid bound compartment. This probe has an excitation peak at 487 nm and an emission peak at 504 nm
