Betacellulin / Biotin / Polyclonal
Product Details
Description | To detect hBetacellulin by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hBetacellulin is 1.5 – 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. To detect hBetacellulin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 – 1.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech's Polyclonal Anti-Human Betacellulin (500-P254) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 – 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hBetacellulin. To detect hBetacellulin by direct ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 – 1.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 – 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hBetacellulin.Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant hBetacellulin. Anti-Human Betacellulin specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated. | |

About Betacellulin
This gene encodes a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family of proteins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate the secreted growth factor. A secreted form and a membrane-anchored form of this protein bind to multiple different EGF receptors. This protein promotes pancreatic cell proliferation and insulin secretion, as well as retinal vascular permeability. Mutations in this gene may be associated with type 2 diabetes in human patients.
