FGF-4 / Biotin / Polyclonal

Product Details
Description To detect hFGF-4 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hFGF-4 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. To detect hFGF-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 – 1.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech's Polyclonal Anti-Human FGF-4 (500-P158) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 – 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hFGF-4. To detect hFGF-4 by direct ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 – 1.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 – 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hFGF-4.Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant hFGF-4. Anti-Human FGF-4 specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

About FGF-4
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This gene was identified by its oncogenic transforming activity. This gene and FGF3, another oncogenic growth factor, are located closely on chromosome 11. Co-amplification of both genes was found in various kinds of human tumors. Studies on the mouse homolog suggested a function in bone morphogenesis and limb development through the sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling pathway. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
