Description Cluster of differentiation 22 also known as CD22 is a B-cell-restricted transmembrane protein, which acts as a negative regulator of B-cell signalling. CD22 also has lectin-like adhesive properties.1 CD22 is a good target to shorten the time required for Ab production, thereby augmenting host defense against acute infectious diseases as "universal vaccination."2
