CD14 / DyLight 594 / UCH-M1

Product Details
Description CD14 is a 53-55 kD GPI-anchored single chain glycoprotein that plays a role in the clearance of gram-negative pathogens by interacting with other proteins, including TLR-4 and MD-2, to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). As a high-affinity receptor for LPS, it is involved in the upregulation of adhesion molecules and cytokine expression in monocytes and neutrophils.

About CD14
The protein encoded by this gene is a surface antigen that is preferentially expressed on monocytes/macrophages. It cooperates with other proteins to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide, and to viruses. This gene has been identified as a target candidate in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2-infected patients to potentially lessen or inhibit a severe inflammatory response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2020]
About DyLight 594
DyLight™ 594 has an excitation peak at 593 nm and an emission peak at 618 nm and is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 594 and Texas Red. DyLight™ 594 is most commonly used in flow cytometery and fluorescence microscopy applications.
