STING / APC / REAL1089

Product Details
Description Clone REAL1088 is an antibody fragment derived from the full STING (TMEM173) antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL1088 recognizes the human STING protein, also known as MITA and ERIS and is encoded by the TMEM173 gene. STING is essential for controlling the transcription of numerous host defence genes, including IFNs, Cytokins and CDNs and function as adapter protein involved in the Toll-like receptor and IL-1 receptor signaling pathway in the innate immune response. Polymorphisms in TMEM173 have been reported to influence STING-dependent innate immune signalling and might affect susceptibility to pathogen infection and contribute to severe inflammatory disorders. STING signalling has now been shown to be essential for protecting the cell against a variety of pathogens and the development of cancer by promoting anti tumor immune responses. | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).

About STING
This gene encodes a five transmembrane protein that functions as a major regulator of the innate immune response to viral and bacterial infections. The encoded protein is a pattern recognition receptor that detects cytosolic nucleic acids and transmits signals that activate type I interferon responses. The encoded protein has also been shown to play a role in apoptotic signaling by associating with type II major histocompatibility complex. Mutations in this gene are the cause of infantile-onset STING-associated vasculopathy. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]
About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
