| Description | Clone REA758 recognizes the human FcepsilonRIalpha, the alpha subunit of the human high-affinity Fc receptor for IgE. The receptor is composed of one alpha-, one beta-, and two disulphide-linked gamma-chains, of which the alpha subunit binds IgE1. FcepsilonRIalpha is expressed on mast and basophil cells, is upregulated in the presence of IgE, and is found on a subset of blood dendritic cells. The FcepsilonRI complex plays an important role in triggering IgE-mediated allergic reactions. | Additional information: Clone REA758 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

The immunoglobulin epsilon receptor (IgE receptor) is the initiator of the allergic response. When two or more high-affinity IgE receptors are brought together by allergen-bound IgE molecules, mediators such as histamine that are responsible for allergy symptoms are released. Vio® Bright V423 is a very bright Violet emitting synthetic fluorophore used in flow cytometry. The excitation and emission peaks are 399 nm and 420 nm, respectively, which means that this dye is optimally excited by the 405 nm Violet laser while the emission light is collected by a 450/50 bandpass filter.
