Fascin / APC / REAL834
Product Details
Description | Clone REAL834 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Fascin antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL834 recognizes Fascin, a monomeric actin filament bundling protein, that contains two major actin binding sites. Fascin plays an important regulatory role in the maintenance and stability of parallel bundles of filamentous actin in a variety of cellular contexts. It functions as a prognostic marker of metastatic disease. e.g. neuroendocrine neoplasms of the lung and ovarian cancer. It is expressed in a subset of mainly high grade breast carcinomas and in the cytoplasm of Reed-Sternberg cells, as well as in dendritic cells in normal and neoplastic tissues. Fascin has also been shown in the cytoplasm of histiocytes, smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, squamous mucosal cells and lining cells of splenic sinuses. Expression of fascin was found to correlate with tumor grade, Ki-67 proliferation index and p53 overexpression and to be inversely related to estrogen receptor expression. | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675). | |

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
