CD25 / Vio Bright V423 / REA568
Product Details
Description | Clone REA568 recognizes the mouse CD25 antigen, the alpha chain of the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R). IL-2Ralpha associates with the beta chain (CD122) and the gamma chain (CD132) to form the functional IL-2R complex. IL-2Ralpha is expressed on CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells, activated T and B cells, and to a lesser extent on activated dendritic cells. It is also transiently expressed during T and B cell development. Binding of the CD25 antibody does not impede the binding of IL-2 to its receptor. In combination with CD4, CD25 antibody can be used to identify regulatory T cells (Tregs). | Additional information: Clone REA568 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | | |

About CD25
The interleukin 2 (IL2) receptor alpha (IL2RA) and beta (IL2RB) chains, together with the common gamma chain (IL2RG), constitute the high-affinity IL2 receptor. Homodimeric alpha chains (IL2RA) result in low-affinity receptor, while homodimeric beta (IL2RB) chains produce a medium-affinity receptor. Normally an integral-membrane protein, soluble IL2RA has been isolated and determined to result from extracellular proteolyisis. Alternately-spliced IL2RA mRNAs have been isolated, but the significance of each is presently unknown. Mutations in this gene are associated with interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency. Patients with severe Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the disease caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), have significantly elevated levels of IL2R in their plasma. Similarly, serum IL-2R levels are found to be elevated in patients with different types of carcinomas. Certain IL2RA and IL2RB gene polymorphisms have been associated with lung cancer risk. About Vio Bright V423
Vio® Bright V423 is a very bright Violet emitting synthetic fluorophore used in flow cytometry. The excitation and emission peaks are 399 nm and 420 nm, respectively, which means that this dye is optimally excited by the 405 nm Violet laser while the emission light is collected by a 450/50 bandpass filter.
