MALT1 / PerCP / SPM578
Product Details
Description | Mucosa associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation gene 1 (MALT1) is found in extranodal low-grade B cell lymphomas. MALT1 encodes two Ig-like C2-type domains and fuses with an API2 gene, which is highly expressed in adult lymphoid tissue. The translocation of this MALT1 gene, which maps to human chromosome 18q21, and the apoptosis-inhibiting API2 gene results in an increased development of MALT lymphomas and apoptosis inhibition. Sites at which this API2-MALT1 (11;18)(q21;q21) translocation commonly occurs are within human lung and kidney tissue. MALT lymphoma expresses nuclear Bcl10, which mediates the oligomerization and activation of a MALT1 caspase-like domain. MALT1 mRNA is found in pre-B cells, mature B cells and plasma cells. | |

About MALT1
This gene encodes a caspase-like protease that plays a role in BCL10-induced activation of NF-kappaB. The protein is a component of the CARMA1-BCL10-MALT1 (CBM) signalosome that triggers NF-kappaB signaling and lymphoctye activation following antigen-receptor stimulation. Mutations in this gene result in immunodeficiency 12 (IMD12). This gene has been found to be recurrently rearranged in chromosomal translocations with other genes in mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphomas, including a t(11;18)(q21;q21) translocation with the baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 3 (also known as apoptosis inhibitor 2) locus [BIRC3(API2)-MALT1], and a t(14;18)(q32;q21) translocation with the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus (IGH-MALT1). Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2018]

About PerCP
Peridinin-Chlorophyll-Protein (PerCP) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein isolated from algae that can be excited by the 488 nm blue laser and captured with a 670/30 nm bandpass filter. PerCP exhibits a large Stokes' Shift, with an excitation peak at 482 nm and an emission peak at 675 nm. PerCP is was historically used in flow cytometry, however it is highly susceptible to photobleaching and has poor stability. Alternatives like BB700, NovaFluor Blue 690 or PerCP-eFluorâ„¢ 710 are preferred. PerCP is a generic dye that has no sole manufacturer.
