CD258 Monoclonal / PE-Vio770 / REA244

Product Details
Description Clone REA244 recognizes the CD258 antigen, a type II transmembrane protein, which is also known as tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 14 (TNFSF14), herpes virus entry mediator ligand (HVEML), or LIGHT, the acronym for “homologous to lymphotoxins, inducible expression, competes with HSV glycoprotein D for HVEM, a receptor expressed on T lymphocytes”. CD258 is expressed by activated T cells, NK cells, monocytes, granulocytes, and immature dendritic cells. The ligands of CD258 are HVEM, lymphotoxin beta receptor, and decoy receptor DcR3/TR6. CD258 has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of T cells, and trigger apoptosis of various tumor cells. CD258 is also reported to prevent tumor necrosis factor alpha–mediated apoptosis in primary hepatocytes. Its blockade or targeted disruption can alleviate alloresponses, graft rejection, or graft-versus-host disease. | Additional information: Clone REA244 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |

About CD258
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This protein is a ligand for TNFRSF14, which is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, and which is also known as a herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM). This protein may function as a costimulatory factor for the activation of lymphoid cells and as a deterrent to infection by herpesvirus. This protein has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of T cells, and trigger apoptosis of various tumor cells. This protein is also reported to prevent tumor necrosis factor alpha mediated apoptosis in primary hepatocyte. Two alternatively spliced transcript variant encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
About PE-Vio770
PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
