CD151 Monoclonal / PE-Vio770 / REA265
Product Details
Description | Clone REA265 recognizes the CD151 antigen, a 29 kDa cell surface glycoprotein, which is also known as platelet-endothelial tetraspan antigen 3 (PETA-3) or tetraspanin-24 (Tspan-24). Like other tetraspanin family members, CD151 contains four hydrophobic transmembrane domains, two short cytoplasmic tails, and one small and one large extracellular loop. CD151 is expressed by many different cell types such as platelets, immature hematopoietic cells, megakaryocytes, keratinocytes, epithelial cells, muscle cells, Schwann cells, vascular endothelium, as well as epithelial cells. It complexes with integrins and other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins and is involved in cellular processes including cell adhesion and regulates integrin trafficking and function. CD151 enhances cell motility, invasion, and metastasis of tumor cells. | Additional information: Clone REA265 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | | |

About CD151
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins and other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins. It is involved in cellular processes including cell adhesion and may regulate integrin trafficking and/or function. This protein enhances cell motility, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode the same protein have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

About PE-Vio770
PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
