CD22 Monoclonal / PE-Vio770 / REA340
Product Details
Description | Clone REA340 recognizes the human CD22 antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein which is also known as sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 2 (Siglec-2). In peripheral blood, cell surface expression of CD22 is found on mature B cells, but is lost during terminal differentiation to plasma cells. In bone marrow, surface expression of CD22 can be detected from the pre–B cell stage on. Cytoplasmic expression of CD22 can also be found in late pro–B cells and early–B cells. CD22 plays a strong role in cell interactions and B cell activation. It is a regulatory molecule that prevents the overactivation of the immune system and the development of autoimmune diseases. CD22 has emerged as an ideal target for monoclonal antibody based therapy of B cell malignancies including most lymphomas and many leukemias. | Additional information: Clone REA340 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About CD22
Predicted to enable CD4 receptor binding activity; protein phosphatase binding activity; and sialic acid binding activity. Involved in B cell activation; negative regulation of B cell receptor signaling pathway; and regulation of endocytosis. Located in early endosome and recycling endosome. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]

About PE-Vio770
PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
