LIF Monoclonal / APC / REA350
Product Details
Description | Clone REA350 recognizes the human leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) antigen, a secreted variably glycosylated 180 amino acid protein also known as melanoma-derived lipoprotein lipase inhibitor (MLPLI). LIF is produced by a variety of cells including activated T cells and macrophages, myeloid cells, fibroblasts, liver, heart, and melanoma cells. It affects cell growth by inhibiting differentiation. Other properties attributed to the cytokine include the induction of hematopoietic differentiation in normal and myeloid leukemia cells, the induction of neuronal cell differentiation, and the stimulation of acute-phase protein synthesis in hepatocytes. | Additional information: Clone REA350 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | | |

About LIF
The protein encoded by this gene is a pleiotropic cytokine with roles in several different systems. It is involved in the induction of hematopoietic differentiation in normal and myeloid leukemia cells, induction of neuronal cell differentiation, regulator of mesenchymal to epithelial conversion during kidney development, and may also have a role in immune tolerance at the maternal-fetal interface. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
