Tetherin Monoclonal / PE / REA202
Product Details
Description | Clone REA202 recognizes the CD317 antigen, which is a lipid raft-associated type II transmembrane glycoprotein. CD317 is composed of a short N-terminal cytosolic domain, a transmembrane domain, and a C-terminal glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol anchor. Expression of CD317 is upregulated in the presence of IFN-alpha on T and B cells, is found on the apical surface of polarized epithelial cells, and on myeloma cells. CD317 expression is also found in an intracellular pool and the protein cycles between this intracellular pool and the cell surface in a clathrin dependent manner. It has been shown to play a role in regulating the growth and development of B cells, cell adhesion, cell migration, and in cultured cells. CD317 restricts the release of formed viral particles at the surface of infected cells. | Additional information: Clone REA202 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | | |

About Tetherin
Bone marrow stromal cells are involved in the growth and development of B-cells. The specific function of the protein encoded by the bone marrow stromal cell antigen 2 is undetermined; however, this protein may play a role in pre-B-cell growth and in rheumatoid arthritis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
