CD84 Monoclonal / PE / REA212

Product Details
Description Clone REA212 recognizes murine CD84, a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the SLAM (CD150) family, a CD2 subset of the Ig superfamily of cell-surface receptors. Genes encoding for SLAM members are located on the syntenic region of mouse chromosome 1 and these receptors play vital role in regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses. CD84, like other SLAM receptors has an extracellular ectodomain formed by two Ig-like domains and a cytoplasmic domain with 2 copies of the ITSM (T-I/V-Y-x-x-V/I) motif, which is a docking site for SH2-binding phosphatases and the adaptor molecules SAP and EAT-2. CD84 serves as a self ligand and displays homophilic interaction via its N-terminal Ig domain. Expression of CD84 is found on a variety of cells including B, T, mast cell, platelets, monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, dendritic cell and Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). CD84 has been implicated in regulation of functions such as T cell proliferation, FcepsilonRI-mediated signalling in mast cells, and stability of platelets aggregates. | Additional information: Clone REA212 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |

About CD84
This gene encodes a membrane glycoprotein that is a member of the signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM) family. This family forms a subset of the larger CD2 cell-surface receptor Ig superfamily. The encoded protein is a homophilic adhesion molecule that is expressed in numerous immune cells types and is involved in regulating receptor-mediated signaling in those cells. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
