CD59a Monoclonal / PE / REA287
Product Details
Description | Clone REA287 recognizes the CD59a antigen, the murine analog of human CD59 which is also known as MAC-inhibitory protein (MAC-IP) or membrane attack complex inhibition factor (MACIF). CD59a is widely distributed, being present on all circulating cells, epithelia, and endothelia and in most tissues examined. CD59a blocks the formation of the membrane attack complex of complement by inhibiting binding of C9 to the C5b-8 complex, hereby protecting the cells from complement-mediated lysis. Further, CD59a down-modulates CD4+ T cell activity in vitro and in vivo, thereby revealing another link between complement regulators and T cell activation. | Additional information: Clone REA287 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | | |

About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
