CD62P Monoclonal / APC / REA344

Product Details
Description Clone REA344 recognizes the mouse CD62P antigen, a 140 kDa single-pass type I membrane protein also known as P-selectin or platelet activation dependent granule-external membrane protein (PADGEM). CD62P is expressed by vascular endothelial cells and platelets. The protein is stored preformed in the Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells and in the alpha-granules of platelets. Upon stimulation of these cells with a variety of agonists such as thrombin or histamine, P-selectin is rapidly translocated to the cell surface, where it mediates leukocyte-platelet and leukocyte-vascular endothelial cell adhesion. The interaction of P-selectin with mature leukocytes is in part responsible for mediating leukocyte rolling on vascular cells, an early event in leukocyte recruitment at sites of inflammation. In addition to its role as a receptor for mature neutrophils and monocytes, P-selectin also functions as a cell adhesion molecule for leukocyte precursor cells in the bone marrow, including both lineage-restricted clonogenic progenitors and hierarchically more primitive progenitor cells. | Additional information: Clone REA344 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
