CD66a Monoclonal / PE-Vio770 / REA410
Product Details
Description | Clone REA410 recognizes the mouse CD66a antigen, a Single-pass type I membrane protein which is also known as Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1). CD66a is an adhesion molecule that is involved in many immune responses associated with infection, inflammation and cancer. In the mouse, CD66a is expressed on the plasma membranes of a variety of cells and tissues like endothelial cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, thymic epithelial cells, B lymphocytes and activated T lymphocytes. CD66a is also the principal receptor for mouse hepatitis virus (MHV). Wild mice have two alleles of the mCeacam1 gene, called mCeacam1a and mCeacam1b. Inbred mouse strains that are homozygous for the isoform Ceacam1a, including BALB/c, C57BL/6 (B6), C3H, and A/J mice, are highly susceptible to infection with strains of MHV. In contrast, the SJL line of inbred mice, which is resistant to death from MHV infection, is homozygous for the Ceacam1b isoform, which is not recognized by clone REA410. | Additional information: Clone REA410 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About PE-Vio770
PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
