CD5 Monoclonal / PerCP-Vio700 / REA421
Product Details
Description | Clone REA421 recognizes the mouse CD5 antigen, a 67 kDa single-pass type I membrane protein which is also known as lymphocyte antigen 1 (Ly-1). CD5 is expressed by a majority of thymocytes, mature T cells, and a subset of B cells. The expression of CD5 by a small B cell subset characterizes a developmentally and functionally distinct lineage of B cells called B-1a cells. CD5 plays a role in the interaction of T and B cells and is a counter-receptor for CD72. | Additional information: Clone REA421 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About CD5
This gene encodes a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) superfamily. Members of this family are secreted or membrane-anchored proteins mainly found in cells associated with the immune system. This protein is a type-I transmembrane glycoprotein found on the surface of thymocytes, T lymphocytes and a subset of B lymphocytes. The encoded protein contains three SRCR domains and may act as a receptor to regulate T-cell proliferation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. About PerCP-Vio700
PerCP-Vio® 770 is a far-red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines PerCP and a Vio®770 dye. The donor, PerCP, can be excited by the 488 nm blue laser and transfers energy to the acceptor, Vio®770, which emits light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. APC-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 482 nm and an emission peak at 704 nm, and is spectrally similar to PerCP-Cy5.5 and PerCP-eF710. PerCP-Vio®770 is known to be very bright and photostable, as well as being stable when treated with fixatives. These favorable characteristics that make it useful in multiple different applications such as flow cytometry and Fluorescence Microscopy. The large stokes shift can be advantageous when trying to fit more colors into a multicolor panel. The Vio® dye family are products of Miltenyi Biotec, with many antibody conjugates designed and validated for flow cytometry.
