HLA Class I Bw6 Monoclonal / PE-Vio770 / REA143
Product Details
Description | Clone REA143 recognizes HLA Bw6, a class I human leukocyte antigen (HLA). Expressed on the surface of most nucleated cells, class I molecules are heterodimeric molecules and consist of a type I integral membrane alpha heavy chain and soluble beta2 microglobulin protein. The extracellular region of the heavy chain further consists of 3 domains, of which one comprises the peptide binding groove. Antigens binding to class I molecules are 8–10 amino acids long and play an important role in recognition of the virus infected and malignant cells by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). In addition, class I molecules interact with NK cell receptors to modulate the activity of NK cells. Downregulation of HLA class I Bw6 allele has been reported in leukemic patients where it is suggested that via this downregulation, leukemic cells may circumvent attack by CTLs. | Additional information: Clone REA143 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About PE-Vio770
PE-Vio® 770 from Miltenyi Biotec is a red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines pycoerythrin (PE) and Vio®770. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Vio®770, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-Vio®770 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 775 nm and is a common alternative to PE-Cy7 and PE-H7.
