CD62L Monoclonal / APC / MEL14-H2.100
Product Details
Description | Clone MEL14-H2.100 recognizes mouse CD62L, a member of the selectin family of cell adhesion molecules also know as L-selectin. CD62L is important for the homing of lymphocytes to peripheral lymph nodes through high endothelial venules. It also contributes to leukocyte emigration into acute inflammatory sites. CD62L is a glycoprotein expressed on the cell surface of most thymocytes, T cells, B cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, neutrophils, and eosinophils. It is highly expressed on naive T cells and down-regulated upon differentiation due to activation-dependent shedding. CD62L is also expressed on a subset of CCR7highCD44high central memory T cells and on CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells. | |

About CD62L
This gene encodes a cell surface adhesion molecule that belongs to a family of adhesion/homing receptors. The encoded protein contains a C-type lectin-like domain, a calcium-binding epidermal growth factor-like domain, and two short complement-like repeats. The gene product is required for binding and subsequent rolling of leucocytes on endothelial cells, facilitating their migration into secondary lymphoid organs and inflammation sites. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with various diseases including immunoglobulin A nephropathy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
