CD357 Monoclonal / APC / DTA-1

Product Details
Description Clone DTA-1 specifically recognizes mouse CD357, also known as glucocorticoid-induced TNF-receptor (GITR) or TNFRSF18, a member of the TNF receptor superfamily. It is expressed at low levels on resting T lymphocytes and at high levels on CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (Tregs). Activation of T cells upregulates GITR expression. Interaction of GITR with its ligand (GITRL) has been demonstrated to augment T cell activation, proliferation, cytokine production, as well as MAPKs and NF-kappaB activation. GITR plays an important role in the function of CD4+CD25+ Tregs.

About CD357
This gene encodes a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. The encoded receptor has been shown to have increased expression upon T-cell activation, and it is thought to play a key role in dominant immunological self-tolerance maintained by CD25(+)CD4(+) regulatory T cells. Knockout studies in mice also suggest the role of this receptor is in the regulation of CD3-driven T-cell activation and programmed cell death. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]
About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
