TLR3 Monoclonal / PE / TLR 3.7

Product Details
Description The monoclonal antibody TLR 3.7 reacts with CD283, also known as toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3). Toll-like receptors are a family of pattern recognition receptors that have evolved to detect components of foreign pathogens referred to as pathogenassociated molecular patterns. TLR3 is a single-pass type I membrane protein expressed exclusively in intracellular vesicles, such as the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), endosomes, lysosomes, and endolysosomes, where it recognizes microbial dsRNA. Multiple cell types are known to express TLR3 including dendritic cells, keratinocytes, and neurons. TLR3 activates via the TRIF-dependent pathway antiviral immune responses through the production of type I interferon and inflammatory cytokines, suggesting that TLR3 has an essential role in the prevention of viral infection.

About TLR3
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved from Drosophila to humans and share structural and functional similarities. They recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) that are expressed on infectious agents, and mediate the production of cytokines necessary for the development of effective immunity. The various TLRs exhibit different patterns of expression. This receptor is most abundantly expressed in placenta and pancreas, and is restricted to the dendritic subpopulation of the leukocytes. It recognizes dsRNA associated with viral infection, and induces the activation of NF-kappaB and the production of type I interferons. It thus plays a role in host defense against multiple viruses. About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
