CD94 Monoclonal / APC / 18d3

Product Details
Description Clone 18d3 recognizes CD94, an approximately 70 kDa, single pass, type II transmembrane protein, which belongs to C-type lectin superfamily. CD94 associates covalently with NKG2 family members and forms disulfide bonded heterodimers. CD94-NKG2 receptors bind HLA-E, the nonclassical MHC class Ib molecule. Depending on the associated NKG2 member, CD94-NKG2 heterodimer transmits either activating or inhibitory signal. For e.g via immunoreceptor tyrosine based-inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) containing NKG2A, CD94-NKG2A heterodimers inhibit NK cell cytotoxicity. Besides NK cells, expression of CD94-NKG2 heterodimers is also shown on NK-T cells and a small percentage of CD8+ cells in most mouse strains. DBA/2J mice do not express CD94.

About CD94
Natural killer (NK) cells are a distinct lineage of lymphocytes that mediate cytotoxic activity and secrete cytokines upon immune stimulation. Several genes of the C-type lectin superfamily, including members of the NKG2 family, are expressed by NK cells and may be involved in the regulation of NK cell function. KLRD1 (CD94) is an antigen preferentially expressed on NK cells and is classified as a type II membrane protein because it has an external C terminus. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
