CD326 Monoclonal / APC / caa7-9G8
Product Details
Description | CD326 (EpCAM) is a 40 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion, cell proliferation, and tumor progression. It functions as a homotypic calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule. CD326 is broadly expressed on epithelial cells including definitive endoderm cells, keratinocytes, immature thymocytes, langerhans cells, lymph node dendritic cells, thymic dendritic cells, splenic dendritic cells, and tumor cells including almost all carcinomas. Moreover, CD326 is expressed on mouse embryonic stem cells and was described as a marker for the identification of successfully reprogrammed induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS). | |

About CD326
This gene encodes a carcinoma-associated antigen and is a member of a family that includes at least two type I membrane proteins. This antigen is expressed on most normal epithelial cells and gastrointestinal carcinomas and functions as a homotypic calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule. The antigen is being used as a target for immunotherapy treatment of human carcinomas. Mutations in this gene result in congenital tufting enteropathy. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
