Description Rabbit polyclonal antibody to SMIT1 also known as Na(+)/myo-inositol cotransporter and SLC5A3 whose expression can be detected in tumors but is highly expressive in the cerebral white matter of oligodendrocyte progenitor cells. It is found in the multi pass membrane. This protein is involved in the prevention of intracellular accumulation of high concentrations of myo-inositol (an osmolyte) that result in impairment of cellular function. It also helps in the regulation of respiratory gaseous exchange and peripheral nervous system development.
