Ki-67 / CF647 /

Product Details
Description Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Ki67, also known as Antigen Ki67 whose expression can be detected in the nucleoli but is highly expressive in the G2 phase and during mitosis. It is found in the centromeric region. It plays a direct role in chromatin organization, an indirect consequence of its function in maintaining mitotic chromosome dispersal. This protein extensively prevents chromosomes from collapsing into a single chromatin mass by forming a steric and electrostatic charge barrier: the protein has a high net electrical charge and acts as a surfactant dispersing chromosomes and enabling independent chromosome motility. -

About Ki-67
This gene encodes a nuclear protein that is associated with and may be necessary for cellular proliferation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. A related pseudogene exists on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
About CF647
CF®647 from Biotium is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 642 nm and an emission peak at 662 nm. It can be useful in both fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. It is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 647, DyLight™ 649 and Cy5.
