About HIF-1 alpha
This gene encodes the alpha subunit of transcription factor hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1), which is a heterodimer composed of an alpha and a beta subunit. HIF-1 functions as a master regulator of cellular and systemic homeostatic response to hypoxia by activating transcription of many genes, including those involved in energy metabolism, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and other genes whose protein products increase oxygen delivery or facilitate metabolic adaptation to hypoxia. HIF-1 thus plays an essential role in embryonic vascularization, tumor angiogenesis and pathophysiology of ischemic disease. About CF594
CF®594 from Biotium is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 593 nm and an emission peak at 614 nm. It can be useful in both fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. It is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 594, DyLight™ 594 and Texas Red. However, in flow cytometry, PE-CF®594 and PE-Dazzle 594 are superior alternatives. In microscopy, CF®594 has been validated in STED and 2-Photon microscopy.
