About CTLA-4
This gene is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and encodes a protein which transmits an inhibitory signal to T cells. The protein contains a V domain, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic tail. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. The membrane-bound isoform functions as a homodimer interconnected by a disulfide bond, while the soluble isoform functions as a monomer. Mutations in this gene have been associated with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, Graves disease, Hashimoto thyroiditis, celiac disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, thyroid-associated orbitopathy, and other autoimmune diseases. About CF594
CF®594 from Biotium is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 593 nm and an emission peak at 614 nm. It can be useful in both fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. It is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 594, DyLight™ 594 and Texas Red. However, in flow cytometry, PE-CF®594 and PE-Dazzle 594 are superior alternatives. In microscopy, CF®594 has been validated in STED and 2-Photon microscopy.
