Bcl-2 / CF594 /

Product Details
Description Rabbit polyclonal antibody to BCL2 also known as apoptosis regulator bcl2, which is expressed in the varieties of tissues but is highly expressed on the surface of ectocervix and coronary artery. It is found in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It suppresses apoptosis in a variety of cell systems including factor-dependent lymphohematopoietic and neural cells also regulates cell death by controlling the mitochondrial membrane permeability. This protein appears to function in a feedback loop system with caspases and can inhibit caspase activity either by preventing the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria and/or by binding to the apoptosis-activating factor (APAF-1). -

About Bcl-2
This gene encodes an integral outer mitochondrial membrane protein that blocks the apoptotic death of some cells such as lymphocytes. Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as in the case of translocation of BCL2 to Ig heavy chain locus, is thought to be the cause of follicular lymphoma. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
About CF594
CF®594 from Biotium is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 593 nm and an emission peak at 614 nm. It can be useful in both fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. It is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 594, DyLight™ 594 and Texas Red. However, in flow cytometry, PE-CF®594 and PE-Dazzle 594 are superior alternatives. In microscopy, CF®594 has been validated in STED and 2-Photon microscopy.
