CD146 / PerCP / P1H12

Product Details
Description CD146, also known as MCAM (melanoma cell adhesion molecule) or MUC18, is a heavily glycosylated transmembrane glycoprotein with more than 50% of the mass from carbohydrates. It is expressed on epithelial and endothelial cells, fibroblasts, multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells, activated T cells and activated keratinocytes, and on some cancer cells, especially melanoma. The presence of CD146 on circulating blood cells has been confined to the activated T cells rather than circulating endothelial cells. CD146 mediates heterophilic cell adhesion and regulates monocyte transendothelial migration.

About CD146
Involved in glomerular filtration and vascular wound healing. Acts upstream of or within angiogenesis. Located in external side of plasma membrane. Biomarker of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and uveal melanoma. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
About PerCP
Peridinin-Chlorophyll-Protein (PerCP) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein isolated from algae that can be excited by the 488 nm blue laser and captured with a 670/30 nm bandpass filter. PerCP exhibits a large Stokes' Shift, with an excitation peak at 482 nm and an emission peak at 675 nm. PerCP is was historically used in flow cytometry, however it is highly susceptible to photobleaching and has poor stability. Alternatives like BB700, NovaFluor Blue 690 or PerCP-eFluorâ„¢ 710 are preferred. PerCP is a generic dye that has no sole manufacturer.
