CD11c / Biotin / N418
Product Details
Description | The mouse CD11c antigen is present in dendritic cells in lymphoid organs and blood, in Langerhans cells in the epidermis, in dendritic cell progenitors in the bone marrow, and in in vitro generated bone marrow–derived dendritic cells. In spleen and lymph node, CD11c is expressed at high levels on conventional CD11c+CD45R–mPDCA-1– dendritic cells, and at moderate levels on CD11c+CD45R+ mPDCA-1+ plasmacytoid dendritic cells. Clone N418 is reported to be weakly expressed on NK cells, B cells, and T cell subsets. About 1–3% of splenocytes, 2% of bone marrow cells, as well as <1% of lymph node cells and thymocytes express CD11c. | |

About CD11c
This gene encodes the integrin alpha X chain protein. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This protein combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 4 (CR4). The alpha X beta 2 complex seems to overlap the properties of the alpha M beta 2 integrin in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium cells, and in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
